Brunch at Adega at the 9 -- Cleveland, OH

Image
This year we have season tickets to Playhouse Square, so we manage to visit Cleveland at least once a month. During our last few visits we've alternated choosing a location to eat at, trying to pick a different one every time. We passed a gorgeous sign for Adega at the Metropolitan 9 and when I found out they had weekend brunch I was sold.   Our brunch libations -- mimosa and red sangria.  The reason I was so excited to try brunch at Adega was this Smothered S'mores Waffle with chocolate and toasted marshmallows. It was further improved by the addition of even more sugar in the form of syrup.  Dave ordered the Brunch Bowl which was quinoa, arugula, manchengo cheese, and an egg. Dave enjoyed this, he thought the combination of ingredients invoked a true sense of brunch -- with the mixture of lunch items and the fried egg.  As always we also selected an order of breakfast potatoes -- we both wished that we had ordered two servings, because th

Today's Bride Wedding Show -- Cleveland, OH

Right after engagement season (the period from Thanksgiving to New Year's) it's bridal show season. During the last nine months of my engagement I have not attended a single bridal show. Now suggestions for bridal show events are showing up all over my Facebook page. As a 2017 bride with most of her vendors already chosen, I wasn't inclined to check out any bridal shows during the next few months, but I was offered the opportunity to be the featured bride at my photographer's booth at the Today's Bride Bridal Show in Cleveland, which gave me the opportunity to interact with other Northeast Ohio couples, as well as explore the displays at the IX Center. This is a two day event, I was present just for the second day of the bridal show. The super cute stemless wine glass above was available for purchase with champagne, wine, or a cocktail. As you already know I'm obsessed with all things Ohio, so I needed one of the glasses. Once I was done at my photograph

I took a small hiatus in December due to travels and the holidays, but Ohio Wanderlust is back and I have a list of events and restaurants to check out during these blustery cold months. Festival season really winds down in the winter, and most of the events that are going on have a heftier price tag than what I usually like to pay for events. I was so excited to find out that one of my favorite places was adding a monthly brunch to their rotation for the winter season. Throughout the winter Barrel Run Winery will be hosting brunch on the second Sunday of every month from 10:00-1:00. The menu will change every month, so if you missed out today, but love what I've posted there will be variations next month. Barrel Run is a small winery, but Nicole and her staff really put a lot of thought and care into preparing the menu. We've never been disappointed by a food order at Barrel Run. We arrived around 11:30, to a bigger crowd than we expected. Quite a few
