Downtown Canton Flea at Deli Ohio -- Canton, OH

This is the second year for the Downtown Canton Flea and the second flea of 2016 is taking place tomorrow, so I wanted to make sure to post my review from the April Flea to give you an idea of what to expect.

We were pretty hungry when we arrived, so we ducked into Deli Ohio to order brunch. We split a Green Chili, Egg, Avocado and Cheese Biscuit Sandwich and a Maple Balsamic Strawberry Parfait. Both were good and a nice amount to tie us over until later, we didn't order coffee, because we heard that there was a coffee truck outside with the vendors.

After breakfast we went outside to check out the vendors. There was a wide variety of products available for purchase -- make sure to bring a little cash, most vendors took cards via Square, but it's always best to be safe in case you fall in love with something.

Cards from ChampaignPaper -- check out their Etsy Shop.

Other items along the way to our next stop...

We fell in love with the plush foods that Live Dream Create Shop from Hudson was selling (check out her Etsy Shop. We settled on purchasing a carrot for our cat Cappuccino and it's been her favorite toy ever since then.

Coffee plays an important role in my life, so we had to stop at Native Hill Coffee Truck.

Next we checked out the table StarkFresh had set up advertising their Summer Co-Op program, we were also able to get a free packet of seeds for providing some information.

We stopped by Massillon based High Mill Homegrown's table (check out their website)  to sample some herb blends on popcorn, we liked the Fajita Blend so much we purchased a bottle to take home -- it has a serious kick to it, but it's delicious on popcorn.

Next up was Strung Out Jewels (check out her Etsy Shop), she sells magnetic jewelry, I decided on a black and white bracelet and purchased it.

After touring the outside vendors, we ducked back inside Deli Ohio to visit the vendors who were showcasing their wares inside the building. We spent some amount of time watching a lady get a henna pattern done, Henna By Kendra will be at future Downtown Canton Flea events.

At this point, we headed back to Live Dream Create to buy our plushy carrot and picked up some Chocolate Covered Pretzels at Doki Doki Chocolate's table (check out their Facebook Page). We decided on a Coffee + Cream chocolate covered pretzel.

We had a fun day at the first Downtown Canton Flea event of the year, sadly we're unable to attend tomorrow, but are looking forward to attending once more before the summer is over. We love supporting local businesses and artists and the Downtown Canton Flea is the perfect place to do that.

My rating for the Downtown Canton Flea at Deli Ohio.

Press Wine Bar -- Cleveland, OH

Several weeks ago we met up with our Wine Wednesday bunch at Press Wine Bar in Tremont upon the recommendation of a mutual friend. We haven't been able to spend too much time in Tremont due to how far away it is from where we live, but it's nice to get up to the Cleveland area every once in a while. Since this review is coming at you a few weeks late, note that there have already been changes to Press Wine Bar's menu, what we ordered may no longer be available, but I see some really cool things on their menu tonight that I'd love to go back to try like the Avo Brie Bruschetta.

Dave and I arrived at Press Wine Bar right before Happy Hour ended, so we were able to score Fried Arancini with pesto aioli and balsamic reduction as well as a Pear Salad with Butter Lettuce, Walnuts, Chevre, and Walnut Vinaigrette. We also ordered a glass of wine and a beer from the Happy Hour menu, because they were at a reduced price.

We enjoyed the Arancini and Pear Salad before our friend joined us, and the Arancini paired with the pesto aioli was spectacular, we loved this appetizer and if you order it during Happy Hour, it's perfectly priced.

The salad was good, I preferred the Happy Hour price to the regular menu price and was happy to see this item on the Happy Hour menu, because I had been interested in ordering it based on checking out the menu online.

Our friend ended up being super late to meet us...so Dave and I ordered The Cheese Board, which had just been removed from the menu the week we went. Since neither of us eats meat, we asked if Press could make us the cheese board and charge the previous rate, they were happy to oblige. The Cheese Board came with four different types of cheese, some lightly pickled veggies, maricona almonds, honey, and whole grain mustard. This was nice to snack on, we both had our favorites, I thought they all nicely paired with the other ingredients and it took us a while to get through it.

I decided to order one more drink because our friend was pretty late joining us, I chose the Gingersnap made with Absolut Berry Acai, Disaronno amaretto, brown sugar simple syrup, allspice, cinnamon, vanilla sugar, and ginger beer. The combination of ingredients might sound pretty weird, but this drink was absolutely amazing -- it really was reminiscent of a gingersnap.

When our friend was able to join us, we were still hungry, because we hadn't eaten before coming to Press and had split only a few light things while waiting. When he ordered some food, we decided to try the Tempura Fried Asparagus with coconut sticky rice and tequila curry glaze and the Caprese Flatbread. Both were outstanding, the Tempura Fried Asparagus was delightfully crispy and the glaze worked perfectly with the other flavors.

Our server did a nice job of being attentive and Press Wine bar had a good atmosphere. I would love to go back to Press Wine Bar, especially to try their brunch menu and enjoy the patio.

Nauti Vine -- Akron, OH

We visited the Nauti Vine three weeks ago when the weather was just starting to try to turn warm. We love our Wine Wednesdays with friends and were intrigued by how close Nauti Vine was to our new place. I knew from checking out their website that Nauti Vine was close to the Portage Lakes, but I wasn't prepared for how absolutely gorgeous the back patio area was.

There was a Wine and Paint event going on inside the building on the day we visited, so our group decided to stay outside and enjoy the ambiance for a while.

Dave and I split a bottle of Delizioso which is a Sauvignon Blanc with hints of pear and kiwi. Overall, we thought the Delizioso was just okay, we love trying new wines though and will be back to try other varieties.

One of our friends ordered the Sierra Vista which is a Merlot. As the vine connoisseur of our group, it's always important to get his approval on locations we visit. He ended up liking the Sierra Vista, so our group moved on to ordering food.

Dave and I ordered two things off the menu the Roasted Wild Mushroom Pizza and the Bruschetta. Our friends ordered the Caprese Pizza and Soft Pretzel Sticks which are served with Mucky Duck beer cheese (Mucky Duck is the brand of beer Nauti Vine produces) and ground mustard.

We both liked the pizzas a lot, they are served in a flat bread style and the crust is nice and crispy.

After finishing dinner the sun was setting and our group decided to move the party inside the tasting room. On the day we went Nauti Vine was serving stuffed cookies for dessert -- the chocolate chip was stuffed with more chocolate and the chocolate was stuffed with peanut butter. These cookies were the perfect sweet thing to end the evening with and we even went back to order seconds.

While inside the tasting room two wine slushies being spun around a frozen drink machine caught our attention. We ended up ordering the Stawberry Lemonade with Merlot. I wish that we had just ordered this in the first place, it was a super fun drink and would be perfect to sip on a warm day outside on Nauti Vine's back deck.

At the very end of our visit we noticed how gorgeous the sunset was over the lake and went back outside to snap some photos.

The food and wine were good, but they didn't wow us. We felt the same way about the service it was also good, but there was nothing amazing and incredible that happened there either. However, the atmosphere is so lovely that we will certainly return just to experience it. I love how close Nauti Vine is to our home and maybe we'll feel differently about the food and wine after we visit a few more times, but the atmosphere and location are most certainly drawing us back.
